We do not have a problem in bad demography, as some try to convince the government, but that a huge part of the working population is "in the shadows" and does not pay contributions to the pension system. This Wednesday night, July 5, said the Minister of Social Policy, Andrei Reva.

According to the minister, reforming the pension system should affect the labor market. The new requirements for the insurance period will create conditions under which employees will be required to formalize them officially.

The reform will help to eliminate the causes that led to the actual bankruptcy of the Pension Fund, the minister is sure, adding that the government aimed not to reduce the number of pensioners through raising the retirement age, but to expand the circle of single social contribution payers.

Raising the retirement age does not solve the causes of the problems of the Pension Fund. It will unequivocally put in a losing position those who minimized the costs for non-payment of contributions, and those who worked honestly throughout their lives and earned a pension, "explained Reva.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, earlier Reva said that the increase in insurance length will start from January 1, 2018.
