Sanctions will be in force until December 31, 2018. As stated in the resolution published on Wednesday morning, July 5, on the website of the Russian government, the validity period of sanctions was extended from January 1 to December 31, 2018.

They prohibit the importation into Russia of certain agricultural products, raw materials and food products originating in the United States of America, the countries of the European Union, Canada, Australia, the Kingdom of Norway, Ukraine, the Republic of Albania, Montenegro, the Republic of Iceland and the Principality of Liechtenstein.

The message also states that the restrictions are aimed at "the extension of special economic response measures to individual states, taking into account the degree of their involvement in the sanctions regime against Russia".

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, June 29, came into force the decision of the European Union to extend economic sectoral sanctions against Russia until 2018. The corresponding decision was published in the official journal of the European Union. Thus, economic sanctions against Russia have been extended for another six months - until January 31, 2018. The reason for the adoption of sanctions is Russia's actions to destabilize the situation in Ukraine.
