The Polish Sejm adopted a new bill on amending the rules of employment for foreigners. This is reported by the Polish Radio. The amendments provide, in particular, the introduction of payment (PLN 30) for the registration of the employer's application of the intention to hire a foreigner. This applies to foreigners who perform long-term work in Poland. We are talking about the citizens of Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and Russia who will be able to use the simplified procedure of access to the labor market. In addition to the work permits issued by the voivode for a period of up to three years, a seasonal work permit has been introduced, which may be issued by the head (for eight months during the year).
A register of foreign labor will be created, containing information on work permits, seasonal work permits, a statement drawn up for the purpose of making entries in the register, and information from the headman about the inability to hire local workers to meet staffing needs. The law provides for payment (30 PLN) for registration of the employer's application of the intention to employ foreigners. The application may not be registered if the management acknowledges that it was made for mercenary purposes or will be used by an alien for other purposes than doing work for the specified employer. The work on the basis of the application registered by the headman can be performed for six months in a year.
