In the first quarter of 2017, the Sverdlovsk region increased exports of metallurgical products by 34% compared with the same period last year, according to the information policy department of the governor. Growth occurred both in value and in quantity. Positive dynamics was demonstrated by supplies of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, products from them. The export of titanium grew by 18%. The main countries-buyers of Ural branded products are Belgium, Great Britain, Greece, Netherlands, Serbia, USA, Czech Republic.
In addition, thanks to the agreements between the governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev, in the first three months of 2017, the export of railway machinery products (due to the supply of freight wagons and their parts to Iran) doubled, the supply of electrical equipment to non-CIS countries increased by 20%, in particular, India. There were also new consumers of goods from the Urals. In China Sverdlovsk steel producers began to ship electrical equipment, in Kazakhstan - cable products and building materials.
Recall that now, on the instructions of Evgeny Kuyvashev, the region is developing a strategy for the export of goods and services of the Sverdlovsk region until 2030. According to the Minister of International and External Economic Relations Andrei Sobolev, it will lay the foundation for building practical work within the framework of the priority regional project "Export Development of the Sverdlovsk Region".

According to customs statistics, the foreign trade turnover of the Sverdlovsk region in the first quarter of 2017 amounted to 2199.1 million US dollars.
