The Prosecutor General's Office has established the probable involvement in the large-scale land swindle in Kharkov of two more city council officials. This was reported by the press service of the GPU.
The department was reminded that they are investigating the facts of committing of offenses committed by officials of the mayor's office. 4 items. 190 (fraud), h. 5 items. 191 (misappropriation, embezzlement of property or occupation by abuse of office), h. 1 st. 255 (creation of a criminal organization), h. 2 items. 364 of the Criminal Code (abuse of power or official position).
According to the investigation, Kharkov officials during 2008-2014 created more than 90 serving cooperatives, the founders and participants of which were persons from their close circle. By assisting them in the production of the appropriate title documents, the suspects illegally appropriated land plots of the total area of ??more than 650 hectares and worth more than 4.05 billion UAH, which they turned in favor of their own and others.
The investigation found that the fraud was also allegedly involved in the ex-head of the city planning and architecture department of the Kharkov City Council, who was also deputy director of the Department of Urban Development, Architecture and Land Relations, and his deputy.
To the named persons yesterday, on June, 1st, it has been informed on suspicion in aiding in illegal possession of a fraudulent way by the ground areas in interests of the third parties.
"As part of the reports of suspicion, officials, acting as part of an organized group together with other officials, contributed to the seizure of land in the territory of Kharkiv with a total area of ??25.1178 hectares, which damaged the territorial community for a total of almost 135 million UAH," noted In the GPU.
The department added that officials had been in these positions for more than 10 years and were subordinates of the deputy mayor of Kharkov, which also has the status of a suspect.
At present, the issue of taking these detainees in custody and removing them from their posts.
May 17, 2017 it was reported that for the arrested vice-mayor of Kharkov Tatyana Ovinnikova, who is suspected of involvement in the embezzlement of the land, made a pledge of 30 million UAH.
