An optimistic scenario envisages the creation of a high-speed railway in Ukraine within the next 5-10 years.
The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan stated this on "Channel 5".
He noted that negotiations on the construction of such a road are already underway. It is expected that participation in the construction will be accepted by Chinese companies.
"In terms of time, this is a minimum of 5 to 10 years from today - if we have successful negotiations and we have effective management of Ukrzaliznytsia," Omelyan said..
He also said that the European gauge was adopted as the standard for the new highway. It is planned that on the external direction it will connect Kiev with Warsaw and Berlin, and on the inner - Kiev with Odessa. After the de-occupation of the Crimea, the gauge will also connect the capital with the peninsula.
