Lithuanian Railways refused passenger transportation to Moscow

For reasons of economy, the state-owned company Lietuvos gelezinkeliai (Lithuanian Railways) refused to transport passengers to Moscow. The company claims that by doing this, it will be able to save 2 million. Euro, and passengers can continue to travel to Russia by Russian trains.

Lietuvos gelezinkeliai wagons from Monday will no longer attach to the Russian train, which runs on the route Kaliningrad-Vilnius-Moscow, notes delfi.

Thanks to this, our expenses will be reduced, "Lietuvos gelezinkeliai, deputy general director of Lietuvos gelezinkeliai, said for the press release Linas Bauzhis.

Last year the company Lietuvos gelezinkeliai transported to Moscow and in the opposite direction by almost 27% less passengers than in 2015.
