In April, inflation in Ukraine decreased

The State Statistics Service recorded a fall to 0.9% compared with March, when inflation was 1.8%. According to the press service of the ministry, in comparison with April of the previous year prices on the consumer market grew by 12.2%, and from the beginning of 2017 - by 4.9%.

At the same time, according to the State Statistics Service, in April prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 1.2%, while vegetables, fruits, meat and meat products, lard, sugar, bread and rice went up by 1-7.6%. At the same time last month, eggs fell substantially, by 18.3%.

Prices for buckwheat and milk fell by 2% and 0.6%. Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 1.3%. At the same time, tariffs for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels rose by 0.5%, which raised tariffs for house maintenance and domestic areas by 5%, water supply by 3%, sewerage by 2.6%.

The increase in prices for transport in general by 1.4% was mainly due to a rise in the price of travel in road transport by 2.7%, as well as fuel and oil by 1.2%. In the sphere of communications, prices rose by 2.

7%, which is associated with a rise in the cost of postal services by 42.4% and mobile communications by 4.1%, - the statistical office.

At the same time, the State Statistics Committee recalled that the above data do not take into account the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and part of the zone of the antiterrorist operation.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, inflation in Ukraine in 2016 was 12.4%.
