Presented in March 2006 to the concern of YUKOS excessive demands to cover debts to the state became the reason for the beginning of the bankruptcy procedure of this oil company. Such a decision on Tuesday, May 9, delivered the Court of Appeal of Amsterdam.

As reported by Deutsche Welle, the ruling of the Dutch court as a whole is consistent with the position previously occupied by the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

Recall that in July 2014 the ECHR decided to recover from Russia about two billion euros in favor of former Yukos shareholders.

As reported URA-Inform, in January 2017 the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation allowed not to comply with the ruling of the European Court of Human Rights and not to pay compensation to ex-shareholders of YUKOS.
