Spanish satellite PAZ will launch the American company SpaceX. As reported on the website of the Spanish communications company Hisdesat, it was planned earlier that the satellite would be launched by Russia, but the contract was broken, Rosbalt writes with reference to El Pais.

The launch of the satellite was to be made by the Dnepr rocket, which was developed jointly by Ukraine and Russia, but in 2015 Russia suspended the launches of this carrier rocket.

As a result, Hisdesat broke the contract with Russia and transferred the right to launch a satellite of the American private company SpaceX. Presumably, the launch will take place in the last quarter of 2017 from the launch pad in Vandenberg, California, and will be produced using a Falcon 9 booster.

It is noteworthy that the media have already dubbed PAZ "the first Spanish spy satellite". Its development was carried out by the subdivision of the Airbus concern Airbus Defense and Space, responsible for the creation of defense and aerospace products.
