Ukrainians have already spent 11.3 billion UAH of “Zelensky’s thousand,” and about 80% of these funds went to pay for utilities. In total, 17.8 million citizens received UAH 1,000 each, and the funds can be used until June 30, 2026, while at the same time, Ukrainians mainly use payments of UAH 6,500 for vulnerable categories for clothes and shoes.

This was reported by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko. The absolute leader among the areas of use of assistance was payment of utility bills.. Ukrainians allocated about 80% of all funds spent on bills for electricity, gas, water and heat supply. Such statistics are not surprising, since the increase in tariff burden, the cold season and regular attacks by the Russian Federation on the energy infrastructure have forced millions of families to look for any opportunities to reduce financial pressure.

After utility bills, Ukrainians most often spent money on food and medicine. We are talking primarily about essential goods - medicines for chronic diseases, seasonal medications, basic products made in Ukraine.

Donations to the Ukrainian Defense Forces became a separate important category.. Some recipients sent aid not for their own needs, but to support the army.

In total, under the program, 17.8 million Ukrainians applied for and received a payment of 1,000 UAH. Of these, 3.5 million are children for whom applications were submitted by parents or legal representatives. The government reports that payments have been made 100%, and unused funds can be spent until June 30, 2026. At the same time, there is a rule that one citizen can receive only one payment under the program, and Ukrainians who are abroad are not eligible to participate in it. In parallel with the “thousand”, the state continues payments in the amount of UAH 6,500 for vulnerable categories of the population. 374,367 people have already received such assistance, and the total amount of funds spent is UAH 1.1 billion. Unlike the basic program, Ukrainians most often spend this money on clothes and shoes for adults and children. You can apply for “Winter support” through the Diya application or through “Ukrposhta”.

In Dii, the process takes a few minutes, because you need to select the appropriate service, submit an application for yourself or your child, connect the National Cashback card and confirm your stay in Ukraine.

Through Ukrposhta, funds are automatically sent to those who receive pensions or social benefits. This method is also available for guardians, people without RNOKPP, without the Diya application or with foreign documents. You can only spend funds non-cash and only in permitted categories - cash withdrawals are not possible. After the end of the program period, unused balances are returned to the budget.
