In Jacksonville, Florida (USA), married couple Kristina and Jeff Starmer invested 68 thousand dollars in converting their garage into stylish housing for the 21-year-old son of Laiman. This decision helped him save on rent, while maintaining the independence. About this writes The Sun.

A garage with an area of \u200b\u200b18 by 20 feet turned into a cozy apartment in just three months. The whole family participated in the project, including Laiman himself, who helped with dismantling and construction work. CenterBeam Construction, belonging to the family, used the space as much as possible, inspired by the concept of small houses. In new housing, it was possible to place the bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and living room with comfortable furniture and modern design.

" This turned out to be an ideal solution: it is independent, but can look at a cup of coffee at any moment, ”Christina shared.

Initially, Lyman planned to rent housing, but parents suggested removing the garage in early 2023. The apartment turned out to be spacious, thanks to a high ceiling and a thoughtful layout. As a result, Lyman paid a symbolic rent - $ 400 per month, which is much cheaper than the average market rental value in the region, which is $ 1,500.

In addition to the modern interior, energy -efficient windows, air conditioning system, and even a miniature garden in the adjacent territory were installed in the apartment. The house has all the amenities, including a washing machine, built -in cabinets and thoughtful lighting, creating a cozy atmosphere.

After a year in the new house, Lyman moved to New York, where he took up the development of his own online business. Now the garage is used to accommodate family friends, and since 2025 it is planned to rent it for rent.

Inspired by the success of the project, the family of the sequathers created Herhomeeno to help others in converting garages into full housing.

Previously, the focus reported that the family bought a house in another country without examining it.

Buying new housing turned into an endless repair, stress and financial problems. It took 5 years, a dozen workers and two contractors to bring the house to mind.

It also became known that the spouses sold a house on the seashore to live in a small boat. Ula and Josh conducted a tour of their house and shared the experience of life on the water. They showed how their unique housing was conveniently and rationally organized, and also talked about the difficulties that they had to encounter.
