In Ukraine, drivers are fined for ignoring the minutes of silence, and the first violators have already received punishment. Now everyone who does not stop at the request of the police at 9:00 can be fined 510 hryvnias.

This was reported by the patrol police of the Rivne region. The first case was recorded in Rivne on February 1. 30-year-old driver Volkswagen Passat ignored the gesture of the controller and continued to move during a minute of silence in the city center.

Cameras of the Safe City of Rivne system recorded violations, after which the police quickly established the identity of the driver. The violator explained that he was in a hurry on business, but this did not free him from responsibility. Law enforcement officers wrote out a fine of 510 hryvnias, as the driver violated the requirement of the regulator at the stop.

According to the legislation, the police have the right to stop movement at a moment of silence, and ignoring this is an administrative offense. The main goal of such an event is to honor the dead and a reminder of the loss to the losses that the country carries in the war.
