After the elections of 2025, Ukrainians who are already in Germany will leave payments unchanged, but new arrivals will have to be content with only 460 (19,208 UAH) euros and live in refugee centers. Politicians of all camps converge on one - Ukrainians should work, and not depend on social assistance. About this writes DW. February 23, 2025. In Germany, early parliamentary elections will be held, which can significantly affect the life of Ukrainian refugees. The main question that worries those who are already in the country and those who plan to leave - that will change in social payments and employment opportunities. The Christian Democratic Union (CDS) and the Christian Social Union (CSS), leading in election ratings, nominated a clear program against Ukrainians.
They plan to promote their employment, in particular, to simplify the procedures for recognizing professional qualifications and ensure the study of the German language in the work team. However, at the same time, the CDU/CSS propose to significantly reduce social benefits for newly arrived Ukrainian refugees. If Ukrainians now receive the so -called " In addition, they will be canceled for housing rental and medical insurance in full. In fact, this means that those who arrive after the elections will live in refugee shelters and receive vouchers for food and household goods instead of cash payments. Even more stringent conditions for Ukrainians are offered by an alternative for Germany (ADN) - a ultra -right party, which is stably holding in the second position in the ratings. They advocate the abolition of " At the same time, they still support work permit for Ukrainians, unlike other refugees who are prohibited from working.
Despite the high rating, the prospect of the Adn entering the government is still unlikely - most leading parties refuse to cooperate with them. However, their influence on the political agenda is growing, which can force other parties to reconsider their position.
The reduction in payments for Ukrainians is also supported by a free democratic party (VDP). They believe that large social payments are a “false incentive for migration” and offer to create a new socio-legal status for all refugees, including Ukrainians.
The Union of Sarah Wagenknecht (SSV), a new political force, also advocates a reduction in social expenses, although it does not mention Ukrainians directly in their program. They argue their position by the fact that payments to refugees are overly increasing the load on the budget of Germany.
The Social Democratic Party of Germany (SDPG) and " They note the need to integrate Ukrainians into the labor market, but without an artificial reduction in payments.
Given the ratings of parties, the most likely script is the formation of a government coalition on the basis of the CDU/CSS along with SDPG or " This means that a policy regarding Ukrainian refugees will either remain unchanged, or a compromise option will be found, which provides for a gradual reduction in social payments.
