A young married couple from Texas (USA), 24-year-old Lexi Newkirk and 25-year-old Diego, fulfilled a dream of her own house, spending 60 thousand dollars on its construction. They used two 40-foot naval containers to create unique housing in a picturesque rural area. This is written by New York Post.

The couple had long wanted to escape from the noisy city life, so she acquired a plot of land with an area of \u200b\u200b12.5 akra for $ 180,000. They always admired unusual architectural solutions and decided to make a compact, but functional house from containers, each of which cost them only $ 500.

Diego, working in the field of mold elimination, independently engaged in construction, turning containers into a cozy dwelling with an area of \u200b\u200b640 square feet with one bedroom and a bathroom. It is expected that the construction will be completely completed by March, and for now, the couple lives in a converted van, which they purchased on Facebook Marketplace for $ 4,000.

Initially, the spouses planned to create an exotic tiny Airbnb ranch with 15–20 mini-domes, but could not get permission for a commercial project. Then they decided to focus on building their own housing and further organization of the estate.

Work was carried out in stages to correctly distribute expenses. They prepared the foundation, conducted an electricity 300 feet, installed a septic tank, and then put the containers on each other. Now the couple at the final stage of construction - after the installation of drywall, it remains only to complete the finish.

In the future, Lexi and Diego dream of building a barndominium (a house from a converted barn) and have already acquired chickens and two cows for their farm.
