Ukrainian immigrants (IDP) can receive a subsidy for renting housing only by an official lease agreement. At the same time, you can conclude such an agreement immediately when submitting an application for subsidies at the branch of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU), and the lessor will compensate the amount of taxes for the rental of an apartment.

This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Darina Marchak. " But you also need to show that you and the lessor have official relations, there is a rental agreement. If there is no such contract, the pension fund in its branches has a typical agreement, which you can fill out directly in the PFU department, sign it together with your lessor, and a subsidy will be designed for your expenses, ”she said.

Marchak said that not every landlord may want to provide a lease on an official basis. And many go to it because of the unwillingness to pay taxes.

" Therefore, as part of this experimental project, we will compensate for taxes that the lessor must pay. The official lease agreement is legal protection of the lessor and the IDP family. The lessor is protected if his property is harmful, and the tenant must be responsible for this. For the IDP family, the presence of a contract is a protection from the fact that tomorrow they will simply be evicted outside without warning, they will suddenly increase the rent to a very high percentage, ”the official emphasized.

Marchak voiced a number of important nuances that should be taken into account when applying for a housing subsidy. In particular, she assured that both IDS, forced to move since 2022, and immigrants from 2014, can take advantage of the subsidy.. The main criterion is the lack of own housing in the territory controlled by Ukraine.

" The subsidy is intended for any family of IDS if housing rental costs exceed 20% of the family income. If the IDP family has a very low condition, for example, this is a family of VPO pensioners or one pensioner, then the difference between the amount of rent and the expenses that the subsidy will cover can be much higher than these 20%, ”Marchak explained.

The size of the subsidy will be individual. Three main criteria will be taken into account to calculate the amount, the deputy minister explained.



" This affects the footage that this family needs. Per family member standard 13.65 square meters. m, but not less than 35 kV. m for one family. The second factor on which the subsidy will depend is the region of living. After all, prices for rental housing in Lviv, Kyiv, the Dnieper or a small village, say, in Mirgorod, are fundamentally different. The third factor is, in fact, your income. The lower they are, the larger the size of the subsidy can be obtained, ”said Marchak.
