Two-thirds of 1,400 financial companies, pawnshops and lessors in the non-bank financial market are not active. This is stated in the NBU report on monitoring the non-banking financial market for the first quarter of 2021.

7% of financial companies, pawnshops and lessors (104 out of 1400) did not submit reports to the NBU for the first quarter of 2021, which is their basic responsibility.

Another 5% of companies filed reports with violations - not in full or with incorrect information.

19 financial companies and 6 pawnshops - did not comply with the equity capital requirement in the first quarter of 2021. They need additional capitalization in the amount of UAH 118 million.

Financial companies in the first quarter signed almost 4 million loan agreements and a total amount of about UAH 27 billion (an increase of 17% compared to the first quarter of 2020). Lending to pawnshops amounted to UAH 4.2 billion (an increase of 5% compared to the first quarter of 2020).

In June, the NBU for the first time applied measures of influence to financial companies, pawnshops and lessors:

it temporarily suspended the licenses of 36 market participants for failure to submit reports for the first quarter. The impact measure was applied to 19 financial companies, 13 pawnshops and 4 lessors.

On April 16, 2021, the NBU ordered financial companies to disclose their owners.
