In Russia, at the opening of trading today, 18 December, the ruble continued to fall in price to major world currencies. Around 11:10 MSK dollar traded around the mark of 71.29 rubles, which is 10 cents more than the closing rate of the last day. In the early trade, the dollar reached a level of 71.47 rubles.

The euro traded at 77.45 rubles, which is 53 kopecks higher than the previous day's close. At the auction in the morning the euro reached 77.6 rubles.

The official exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation has established the following: the euro against the ruble rose by 72.6 kopecks - up to 77.4052 rubles; dollar - 74.1 kopecks - up to 71.3215 rubles.

The cost of the currency basket (0.55 dollar and 0.45 euro), calculated at the official rates for the weekend and on Monday, rose compared to the Friday at 73.4 kopecks, reaching 74.0592 rubles.

Fall opened, and the Russian stock market: MICEX index dipped 1.36% and the RTS - 1.95%. Cheaper shares of Gazprom, Sberbank, Lukoil and other large Russian companies.

Analysts attribute the drop in the ruble exchange rate with a decrease in oil prices. A barrel of Brent crude oil is now worth about $ 37.7. The reason for reduction in price of oil experts call it a surplus on the market, as well as the refusal of the OPEC countries to reduce restrictions on its prey.
