Sweden supports the development of Ukrainian women's entrepreneurship. In particular, for the development of this line of business, Sweden will provide Ukraine with appropriate grants. The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine reports this.

The priority direction of Swedish-Ukrainian business development is the provision of grants for business development and to reduce the gender pay gap. The priority of this project will be to try to reduce such gaps and bridge the pay gap between women and men. The Ukrainian government currently forecasts a corresponding reduction in the gap between men's and women's pay from 18.6% to 13.6% by 2030.

Ukraine, in turn, informed the Swedish government that women want to retrain and try their hand at a new direction of development and professional specializations. In particular, women are increasingly adopting “male” professions in construction, mine clearance, and the processing industry.

“The parties discussed the possibility of Sweden’s participation in educational programs for women entrepreneurs, so that they return with new skills and knowledge to rebuild Ukraine,” the Ministry of Economy’s press release notes..

Since 2021, Ukrainians have registered more than 500 thousand legal entities in the organizational form “individual entrepreneur” using the DІYA portal. According to estimates of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the largest share among those registered through the electronic resource are women – 52%. Men are less likely to apply for registration of individual entrepreneurs – 48% of users.
