Economies around the world are recovering faster than previously predicted. This was stated by the first deputy head of the International Monetary Fund Jeffrey Okamoto.

However, according to her, the economic recovery is uneven in different countries.. GDP in most countries remains significantly below pre-crisis indicators.

" At 5.5% in 2021, but there are prospects for a rapid recovery - thanks to additional financial incentives, especially in the United States, and the prospects for larger vaccinations, "

Risks to economic recovery still remain, in particular the spread of new strains of coronavirus.

The IMF predicts that total per capita income in market economies and developing countries, excluding China, will be 22% lower between 2020 and 2022 than if the coronavirus pandemic had not occurred..

This could put almost 90 million people below the extreme poverty line since the start of the pandemic..

Earlier, the IMF named factors for further cooperation with Ukraine. The independence of the National Bank and anti-corruption institutions is the most important principle for the economic and financial stability of Ukraine and for the continuation of cooperation.. Reported by ZN. UA.
