The Verkhovna Rada has established for Ukrzaliznytsia for the current year a single tax rate for the use of land plots at the level of 0.25%. This will allow the company to save 1.3 billion hryvnia, the media center of "Magistral". In addition, thanks to the cancellation of the excise tax on diesel fuel for locomotives and cross-country vehicles, UZ will be able to save another 1.1 billion hryvnia this year. "With respect to land rent, the society was in fact given back a preferential tax rate for using zemuchastkami. It was lost after in 2015 the land tax became one of the main sources of filling urban and settlement budgets, and local deputies were given the right to determine its size. Therefore, the rates for US actually increased 250 times - up to 3% of the normative monetary estimates for zemuchastki within populated areas and up to 5% - outside settlements in the absence of a normative monetary estimate, "- says the media center. According to Andrei Ryazantsev, director of US economic and financial affairs, the municipal authorities unpredictably changed the size of the land rent, so the company's monthly payments for tax payments to local budgets. On average in Ukraine, the land tax rate for UZ ranged from 1.25-1.3% of the estimated value of the land plot. In the use of US there are more than 230 thousand. hectares of land, 80% - under the objects of railway infrastructure. In 2015, UZ paid 350 million hryvnias of taxes for the use of zemuchastkami, and in 2017 - already 1.6 billion hryvnia. According to Ryazantsev, if the deputies did not support the UZ proposal on the return of preferential taxation, in the current year UZ would have to pay about 3 billion hryvnia for using the land, and so it will pay about 300 million hryvnia. Ryazantsev also noted that the elimination of excise duty on diesel fuel for locomotives and all-terrain vehicles is fair for UZ, as its rail technology does not travel on roads and thus UZ should not make deductions to the Road Fund, from which road repair is financed.
