In Switzerland, there is a project to create an underground automatic cargo metro Cargo Sous Terrain, its participants have already collected 100 million Swiss francs. The investor pool includes the Chinese holding Dagong Global Investment, the French company Medidiam, the Swiss supermarket chains Migros, Coop and Manor, the banks Credit Suisse and Cantonal Bank of Zurich, the Swisscom telecommunications concern, the postal operator Die Post, the national railway corporation SBB and the insurance company Mobiliar. The first 67-kilometer tunnel will connect the cities of Herkingen / Niederbipp with the cities of Sur, Spreitenbach and Zurich. In all these settlements there are large logistics centers. The Swiss government will prepare a special law for the implementation of the project. Investors hope that it will be adopted in 2019. The planning phase will last until 2023, followed by a three-track tunnel that can be commissioned by 2030. Ideally, underground freight tunnels will connect Geneva with St.

Gallen, and Basel with Lucerne and Tun - but this is presumably by 2045. The total cost of the project will be 33 billion francs, and this will be only private money. Earlier it was reported that the transportation of goods in this subway will be carried out on the basis of electromagnetic suspension technology, the average speed of the trains will be about 30 km / h.
