The Center for Cyber ??Security of the Security Service was opened in Kiev. This was reported by the head of the department Vasily Hrytsak. The Center was created on the basis of the Department of Counterintelligence Protection of the State's Interests in the Information Security of the Security Service of Ukraine. The work of the new unit is to prevent hacker interference in the operation of infrastructure facilities and public services. Within the framework of the center there is a laboratory of computer forensics and response to cyberncidentates. Gritsak noted that over the past year, experts have managed to repel more than 50 cyber attacks. He also said that the SBU had managed to fix the organization of the largest cyber attacks hackers from Russia. Recall that the virus NotPetya, which infected Ukraine in June 2017, was recognized by the CIA as the work of Russian intelligence. Equipment and components, the software for the work of the center of the Security Service of Ukraine acquired with the funds received from the Ukraine-NATO trust fund. Under a number of agreements, the volume of financial assistance to the armed forces will amount to 5.
4 million euros, of which 815,000 euros are provided for cyber defense. Gritsak also stressed that the new structure is open for circulation. The subdivision will assist institutions, organizations, enterprises, specialized specialists, as well as entrepreneurs. It is reported that the next stage of ensuring cyber defense of Ukraine is the creation of situational centers of cybersecurity, the actions of which will be coordinated from Kiev.
