The US Food and Drug Administration approved the world's first algorithm that monitors the life expectancy of patients and is potentially able to predict their deaths. The algorithm was called the Wave Clinical Platform, it was developed by ExcelMedical. The platform records the slightest changes in vital signs and sends a warning to doctors six hours before the potentially deadly death of the patient. The algorithm watches the patients constantly, and it is almost impossible to do it with the help of an individual. As everyone knows, medical workers are not enough around the world, and it is impossible for every patient, even a heavy one, to put a person who would follow him constantly and tirelessly. Wave was created specifically to solve this problem. He in real time shows physiological and medical information that a medical professional can see both on a workstation and literally from a smartphone. With any change in indicators, Wave automatically calculates risks and gives a warning in advance if it considers that the patient is in danger or will soon be. The algorithm does not just observe biometric indicators, but analyzes them systematically.

For example, a slight decrease in the respiratory rate in other systems will immediately trigger an alarm. But if this decrease correlates with the increase in pressure, the new algorithm, after calculating the probabilities, will let know about the potentially lethal situation. In clinical trials conducted at the medical center of the University of Pittsburgh, Wave was used in a group of elderly patients, and where the system was connected, she prevented six sudden deaths.
