Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman at a meeting of the government on Wednesday said that he did not know anything about the planned increase in the price of gas. "I read in the media in the morning: the government plans to raise the price of gas. And I do not know anything about it at all. But the media writes about this, "Groisman said.. Energy Minister Igor Nasalik, in his turn, assured that the increase in the price of gas is "absolute nonsense". He said that the Ministry of Energy does not initiate a price increase. Groisman also said that this is the second loudest fake of recent times. "It's just like they wrote that Groisman said there is no corruption in Ukraine. Well friends, I interviewed during the visit to Georgia of the authoritative Forbes publication, where I clearly said where we managed to make systemic decisions to destroy corruption - for example, we destroyed corruption when VAT was returned to enterprises - there is no maneuver. But corruption remained in state companies, in courts, and I list there. And I also said that the enemies of Ukraine, I meant one enemy - Russia, through the media abroad, more and more stories are being imposed that there is [corruption] in Ukraine, "said Groisman. Recall, the agency "Ukrainian News" referring to the draft resolution of the Cabinet said that since April 1, proposed completely to depart from the principle of determining the price of gas for the population and revising it every six months, depending on the price of imported parity. According to the new methodology, the price of a cubic meter of gas ostensibly should have risen from 6.

9 to 8 UAH. By October 1, 2017, the Cabinet had to adjust (increase) gas prices for the population and heat and utility companies, as its value in the European market. The Cabinet refused to raise prices and sent to the International Monetary Fund a proposal to change the formula for calculating prices. The current prices for natural gas for the population have been in force since May 2016.
