The development of Boryspil airport requires the expansion of the existing terminal D towards the terminals B and F, which they plan to demolish. This was stated by the commercial director of Borispol airport Georgy Zubko in his blog on TSS. "If we talk about the planned way of development of the airport Borispol in the coming years, then such a massive restructuring of the infrastructure facility in Ukraine has not yet been. Old terminals B and F will be demolished, since obsolete designs and incorrect planning of these complexes can not be upgraded. Instead, they will build five new terminals, a large operation center, a hotel, parking lots, special galleries for transit passengers, "Zubko writes.. According to him, the gallery of Terminal D will gradually expand towards Terminal B, which will increase the number of exits to land. He also noted that for the next five years the construction budget of the project is at least UAH 10 billion. First and foremost, a terminal will be completed from Terminal D to Terminal B, which will allow to increase the number of approaches for landing by 6 units, the baggage handling and sorting area has been expanded, the platform for the terminal D has been expanded, and the maximum passenger traffic will increase to 15 million passengers per year. Earlier, the General Director of Boryspil Pavel Ryabikin stated that Terminal B would be reconstructed during the expansion of Terminal D. "Terminal D should become such a node, which in the process of development of the hub will be stretched towards Terminal B, whether we like it or not.
Over time, a new terminal unit with its baggage sorting system. A new node will appear at the site of Terminal B. But this prospect is 7-10 years old. In other words, we are talking about the integration of terminals, which, in fact, will become a single terminal capable of hosting 25-30 million passengers per year. Naturally, in this case the terminal will be reconstructed, "said Ryabikin.
