Goldman Sachs Group Inc. plans to enter the business of trading crypto-currencies, such as bitcoin, reports Bloomberg News referring to sources familiar with the situation. "In response to customer interest in digital currencies, we are studying how best to work with them," said Goldman spokesperson Michael Duvalli. The new trading platform for operations with crypto-currencies will be ready for launch by the end of June, if not earlier, say two interlocutors Bloomberg.

According to another source, the bank is still trying to work out security issues and decide how it will store assets. Goldman Sachs will be the first large Wall Street firm to enter the business of trading crypto-currencies, which strike the imagination of the public with sharp price fluctuations, but cause concern among regulators. Investbank has already become one of the few large financial institutions offering some customers access to new bitcoin futures.
