The issue of granting a loan of 500 million euros for the construction of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) is being considered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). According to the information posted on the bank's website, the loan recipient will be the operator of the project - Trans Adriatic Pipeline AG. The total cost of TAP is estimated at 4.5 billion euros. TAP is part of the "Southern Gas Corridor" project, which envisages the creation of a pipeline infrastructure for the supply of Azerbaijani gas to Europe. The initial capacity of TAP will be 10 billion cubic meters. m per year with the possibility of doubling it.
The TAP project is designed to transport natural gas from the Azerbaijani Shah Deniz field within the Stage-2 of its development through Greece, Albania to Western Europe. The share distribution among the shareholders in the Trans-Adriatic gas pipeline project is as follows: the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (20%), BP (20%), Snam (20%), Fluxys (19%), Enagas (16%) and Axpo (5%).
