Ukraine has joined the Declaration on Trade and the Empowerment of Women in the Economic Area, the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine. On December 12, at the 11th Ministerial Conference of the WTO in Buenos Aires, the Deputy Minister - Trade Representative of Ukraine, Natalia Mikolskaya, took part in the signing of a joint declaration on trade and the empowerment of women in the economic sphere. More than 100 countries participating in the declaration, including Ukraine, agreed to work to ensure that the trade policies of countries were more responsible in gender issues.

Steps for the implementation of the declaration include the sharing of experience with rules and programs to encourage women's participation in national and international economic relations through the exchange of information through the WTO. The signatories of the declaration are involved in the exchange of best practices on gender analysis of trade policy and monitoring of their consequences. In addition, they cooperate with the WTO to remove barriers to the empowerment of women in the economic sphere and increase their participation in trade.
