According to The Wall Street Journal, PwC in Hong Kong has accepted payment in Bitcoin, because it increasingly works with start-ups that are involved in crypto-conversion and blockchain, an open-book technology that processes Bitcoin transactions by registering them in a public record. The company noted its advisory work in such areas as initial offers of coins, exchange of cryptography and crypto funds. "This decision helps to illustrate how we use new technologies and incorporate innovative business models into our full range of services," said PwC Asia-Pacific Chairman Raymund Chao.

"This also indicates that Bitcoin and other established crypto-currencies have now become more widely accepted forms of settlement". PwC is the first of four audit firms of the "big four", which started accepting payments in the crypto currency. She joined a growing list of companies that accept digital currencies for payments, such as Microsoft Corp.. , online store Overstock and satellite TV operator Dish Network Corp.
