The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) writes that Russian troops are trying to advance to Lisichansk in the Luhansk region, avoiding fighting on the Seversky Donets.

The Institute notes that the invaders are fighting for Ustinovka and Mirnaya Dolina, which is probably an attempt to move northwest to Lisichansk without crossing the Seversky Donets River from Severodonetsk.

They are also trying to establish control over Belogorovka, where in early May they made a failed attempt to force the Seversky Donets..

Analysts also note that in order to gain access to Slavyansk, the occupiers will need to cross the bridge over the Seversky Donets River outside Raygorodok.. But, apparently, the Russians were unable to do this, and still do not control the Raygorodok-Slavyansk road.
