In Odessa, a detention center guard prevented a prisoner from escaping by wounding him in the leg. This is reported by " A 34-year-old native of the Kharkiv region, who was in custody on suspicion of committing a drug crime under Part. 3 st. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, tried to escape from the pre-trial detention center. It is noted that at about 7 o'clock in the morning, the duty officer informed the guard about the offender who fled to the walls of the detention center. Having found the fugitive, the employee of the internal service warned about the use of firearms, after which he fired a warning shot. However, the fugitive did not react to legal demands.. Then the guard fired a shot towards the attacker, wounding him in the leg.. An ambulance was called to the offender, he was taken to the hospital, the police were informed.

A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the attempted escape from custody. The offender faces three to five years in prison. Law enforcers establish all the circumstances of the event. An official investigation has also begun, within the framework of which a legal assessment of the actions of the guard will be given. Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation of the Odessa region entered information into the Unified Register of pre-trial investigations for h. 2 st. 365 (abuse of power or official authority) of the Criminal Code.
