Recent floods in western Germany brought 350 kilograms of WWII ammunition to the surface.

It is noted that cartridges, grenades and pyrotechnics prevail among the dangerous finds..

In particular, 22 finds were made in the valley of a tributary of the Rhine - the Ahr River in North Rhine-Westphalia. This region has been particularly affected by floods..

The local ordnance disposal service said all dangerous finds had been destroyed.

In mid-July, devastating floods in western Germany killed at least 188 people.

The Association of German Insurers has estimated the amount of damage at almost 5.5 billion euros.
