Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed a former serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who was recruited by a representative of the special services of the Russian Federation to collect intelligence information to the detriment of the state security of our country.

Now, within the framework of criminal proceedings for h. 1 st. 111 (high treason) indictment sent to court. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 12 to 15 years with confiscation of property.

According to the SBU investigation, the defendant, on the instructions of foreign curators, was supposed to collect information about military facilities that are deployed in the Volyn region.. Also, representatives of the special services of the Russian Federation were interested in information about the participants in the anti-terrorist operation and the operation of the Joint Forces.

To collect intelligence, the attacker tried to attract other residents of the region.
