Investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation reported that six officials of the Vinnitsa Penitentiary Institution (No. 1) were suspected of abuse of power, which was accompanied by violence and the use of special means, and of murder with particular cruelty (h. 3 tbsp. 365 and n. 4 h. 2 tbsp. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, on July 13, 2019, the fact of the violent death of a 59-year-old man who was detained by a court decision.

It was established that serious bodily injuries were caused to the man, as a result of which the victim died.

Six suspects were on duty on the day of the crime.. The investigation established that the employees of the institution brought the victim to a separate room, where they inflicted at least 85 blows on him, and then transferred to the cell, where he died.

GBR investigators conducted 9 searches, during which the means of committing a crime were identified.
