Farmers in South Lapland faced a rare misfortune: tits that penetrated the cowshed glued the udder of cows to bleeding wounds, which subsequently inflamed, writes Yle.

Owners even had to slaughter some cows due to their illnesses.. The phenomenon has been observed this winter in at least three dairy farms.. The first to write about this was Maaseudun Tulevaisuus.

At Virpi Parpala Dairy Farm, problems started in November. Birds got inside the barn during repairs when the doors were open. After some time, the cows noticed wounds, and then caught tits for sabotage.

" But nothing like this had happened before, ”says Parpala.. Apparently, tits attracted milk fat on the nipples of the udder.

Hunting him, they seriously pecked the udder.

Parpala is surprised only by the fact that the cows did not react at all to biting birds.. They expressed pain only when they were connected to a milking robot.

At Parpal's farm, the birds were driven out of the barn, but five cows had to be slaughtered. The farm suffered heavy losses.
