The chairman of the village council tried to bribe a border guard in the Rakhiv district of Transcarpathia. The press service of the State Border Service reports.

48-year-old resident of the Rakhiv district offered a bribe of $ 500 to the border guard of the Border Service Department "Business". Security officers detained the man in the act.

It is noted that for the specified amount, the man expected to receive permission from the border guard to illegally move across the Tisza River, which runs through the state border, consignments of tobacco products to Romania.

"It was also preliminarily established that the detainee was in close contact with the group, whose actions led to the death of the border guard Vadim Berezensky. In addition, he could have owned a part of tobacco products that was detained on that day ", - border guards also note.

Border guards note that the state border with Romania within the Transcarpathian region remains active regarding attempts to smuggle tobacco products.

As it was reported, on the night of November 16 in Zakarpattya, smugglers, by car on a foreign registration, shot down the head of the Border Guard Department “Business” Vadim Beresensky.

From injuries Berezensky died without regaining consciousness.

The driver disappeared from the scene, later his identity was identified and he was detained by the National Police.
