At the recreation center in the Volchansky district of the Kharkiv region a woman was bitten by a bear from a private zoo located on the territory of the base.

As reported in the department of communication of the State Emergency Management Department in the Kharkiv region, the police received information that the bear had bitten a 53-year-old resident of Hotomli at the Parus Maxi recreation center, who cleaned and did not close the cage in which the predator was.

The bear pounced on her and broke her left thigh, and also bit her.

In serious condition, the victim was taken to the Department of Political Injury Kharkiv Emergency and Emergency Hospital.

Investigation team flew to the scene.

On this fact, law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings under Article 122 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("intentional infliction of bodily harm of moderate severity").
