In Kharkov, a 24-year-old malefactor under the guise of a police officer seized the money of a 70-year-old Kharkiv citizen and hid himself, reports the police department of the Kharkov region.

The incident happened on October 3 in one of the high rises on Biblika Street in the Industrial District. A stranger came to the apartment of a 70-year-old man. He introduced himself as a policeman and said that the son of a pensioner had been involved in a traffic accident and was facing criminal liability.. The young man took possession of the grandfather's money and quickly ran away.

An elderly man did not lose his head, he immediately called the service "102" and provided the signs of a man.

Field investigators of the Industrial Police Department together with the staff of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of Emergency Management in the Kharkiv region quickly detained the attacker. He was previously convicted for the commission of acquisitive crimes 24-year-old resident of Mariupol.

The head of the Industrial Police Department Sergey Meleshev said that the man was detained in the order of. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The investigator opened the criminal proceedings on h. 2 st. 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to 3 years in prison.
