Aircraft of Spain based in Estonia Eurofighter on August 7 by mistake issued during the flight an air-to-air missile AMRAAM. This is reported on the website of the main headquarters of the Estonian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, a rocket with an explosive dropped 40 km north of the city of Tartu. It's not possible to set its location at the moment. The length of the rocket is 3.7 m, diameter 18 cm.

According to the headquarters, the incident occurred on the eve of 15:44 local time near the city of Otepaa, over the territory for conducting military exercises.

Estonian Defense Forces launched an investigation into the incident and a search operation. The plane that fired the missile returned to the airbase.

The Air Force of Spain has been suspended from flights in connection with the incident. Before clarifying the situation, the Spaniards will be replaced by Portuguese fighters.
