Law enforcement officers of the Kiev region detained a suspect in the rape and robbery of a foreign tourist. This was reported by the press service of the regional police.

"A 24-year-old girl who was hitchhiking across Ukraine told the police that in a forest belt near the Chernobyl nuclear power station, her stranger was raped unnaturally by two strangers. The men agreed to bring the tourist to the border on their car and before that they offered to visit the exclusion zone. To penetrate there illegally, an hour drove her through the forest. There they tied a belt to a tree and raped. After that - they took her mobile phone, camera and fled, "- said in a statement.

Two days the work of the operatives of the Ivanovo police department was focused on the installation and search of intruders.

One of them, a 24-year-old Kyivan, was already detained. Evidence has been withdrawn. The guy confessed to the deed.

A number of examinations have now been appointed. Police establish the location of the detainee's accomplice.

The investigation is continuing within the framework of open criminal proceedings in part 2 of Article 153 (Forced sexual desire in an unnatural way) and Part 2 of Article 186 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Attackers face up to 7 years in prison.
