On Wednesday, May 30, the Kiev District Court of Kharkiv extended the preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to pledge the persons involved in the fatal road accident in Sumy. This is reported by NewsRoom.

Judge Viktor Popras supported the prosecutor's motion and decided to extend the arrest of Alena Zaitseva and Gennady Dronov until July 28. The defender of the suspect stated that she did not object to such a decision in connection with the resonance of the case. But the representative of the second person called the verdict unreasonable.

"The prosecutor violates the rule on the presumption of innocence. The prosecutor has less risks. The last time there were four, and now two, and then one - it's not clear which one, "- said Perepelitsa.

Shortly thereafter, the judge announced a break until June 5. On this day, the parties will question three witnesses: an expert in narcology and a laboratory assistant who took blood from Zaitseva after the accident, as well as an employee of the Lexus Motor Show.

Recall that as a result of a fatal accident at the intersection of Sumskaya and Mechnikov lane on October 18 last year, six people were killed and another as many injured. As can be seen on the recordings from the surveillance cameras, the Volkswagen Touareg car crashed into the left part of the speeding Lexus, after which the "Japanese" flew to the sidewalk and crashed into a crowd of pedestrians. Criminal proceedings were opened under Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("violation of traffic rules"). Suspects may face up to 10 years in prison.
