As reported by the Main Department of the State Service for Emergency Situations of Ukraine in the Kharkov region, the forces and means of the Emergency Department of seven operational fire and rescue units were sent to the site of the fire on tankers with 23 rescuers. At the time of their arrival, the fire spread to an area of ??600 square meters. m and reached a depth of three meters.

Rescuers noted that it is difficult to extinguish such fires, because when burning solid waste, fire quickly spreads inside the garbage dump and its surface, while burning of garbage is accompanied by a large amount of toxic smoke and, as a consequence, the smoke from a significant area around.

The total area of ??this landfill is approximately 21.2 hectares, and the depth is 15 m. There was a threat of an increase in the scale of the fire.

To extinguish the fire rescuers gave 4 fire barrels.

In the work to extinguish the rescuers helped the members of the voluntary fire brigade with their tank truck and workers of the garbage processing plant with engineering equipment: 2 excavators, 5 dump trucks and 3 bulldozers.

At 6:40 am by joint efforts, it was possible to localize the fire. Now the situation is controlled, the elimination of individual foci of decay. Open burning is not observed. Engineering technology is used to recultivate waste and spill it with water. Victims and victims are not present.
