A suicide attack in the center of voter registration in Kabul killed at least 31 people, according to Afghan authorities.

More than 50 people were injured in the explosion in the crowd, waiting at the entrance to the center, reports BBC.

Responsibility for the attack was assumed by the extremist group "Islamic State" banned in Russia and other countries,.

Amak, the jihadist-controlled news agency, reported that a suicide bomber in a belt with explosives came to the center in the Dashte Bartsi area in western Kabul.

One of the eyewitnesses said that among the victims there are many women with children who came to take ID and registration to the elections.

The registration of voters for the elections, due in October, began earlier this month. During this time, there have been at least four attacks on registration centers.
