It is reported that the reason for the massive disconnection of public utilities was an accident on a heating pipe with a diameter of 700 mm in the Nemishlyansk district of the city of Kharkov. Without light and heat at the moment there are 605 multi-storey apartment houses, 26 schools, 21 kindergartens, 14 medical institutions.
The cause of the accident is a sharp deterioration in weather conditions and a rapid temperature drop, which is why the pipe coating simply could not stand.
Repair brigades of the KP "Kharkiv Heating Networks" and "Zhilkomservis" have already restored electricity in 129 houses, four hospitals and five medical institutions. The city authorities promised to restore the supply of electricity and heat until the evening of February 25.
