As a result of the fire, two people were killed. Three more people were injured - the 55-year-old owner of the apartment, where the fire occurred, as well as two of his guests born in 1973 and 1957.

As the press service of the Office of the State Service for Emergency Situations of the Kharkov region informs, there was a report of a fire in a multi-apartment building on Shevchenko Street. Rescuers had to evacuate about 50 residents of the house. At the same time, among them there were six children.

Arriving at the scene, rescuers found that burning household items and partitions in the apartment on the first floor of the building. The fire was completely eliminated by midnight.

After the examination, the doctors hospitalized a man in the Valkovsky District Hospital with a diagnosis of "alcohol intoxication and carbon monoxide poisoning".

In the same apartment rescuers found the bodies of two dead men born in 1967.

According to rescuers, the cause of the fire was the careless handling of fire during smoking while intoxicated.
