As a result of the accident, at least one person was killed. Another 22 passengers, including three children, were injured. All of them were taken to hospitals.

As reported by The Independent, the incident occurred in the Austrian commune Niklasdorf. For reasons that are unclear for the time being, there was a side impact of trains traveling along neighboring tracks.

After the collision, one of them got off the rails.

Details of the incident are clarified by the police, but law enforcement officials explained that one of the trains was international and followed from the Austrian city of Graz to German Saarbrucken, the second - a local suburban. At the moment, rescuers work at the scene of the accident, traffic on the line is suspended.
