A citizen of Ukraine, who was banned from entering Russia before 2022, tried to travel to the occupied Crimea on a Ukrainian passport of a new type (ID-card - biometric passport).

This was reported in the press service of the border management, the Crimea. info.

"Arriving at the border control, a resident of the Zaporizhzhya region born in 1984 presented ID-cards to a border guard with a Ukrainian citizen. During the verification of the document it became clear that the man had previously made an attempt to enter the Russian Federation, though under a different name, "the press service said..

It is noted that the Ukrainian admitted that in March 2017 he tried to get to Russia on the national passport of a citizen of Ukraine through one of the checkpoints in the west of the Russian Federation, but then he failed. In this regard, he was banned from visiting the country until 2022.

"After his failure, the Ukrainian, using corruption schemes, issued a biometric passport and changed his name. To get to Russia through the site of the annexed Crimea he failed. Border guards sent the citizen back, "- reads the message.
