The ninth-grader, armed with a knife and an ax, attacked the teacher and children at school number 5 in the military village of Sosnovy Bor in one of the districts of Ulan-Ude.
The intruder, bursting into the classroom where the seventh-graders engaged, first threw a burning rag (according to other sources, the "Molotov cocktail") into the teacher, and then started striking with an ax on the children running out. As a result of the attack, six children and a teacher were injured. Three are in serious condition. The attacker himself was detained and sent to the hospital, as he tried to commit suicide.
The outbreak of fire could be extinguished within a few minutes.
About 500 people were evacuated from the building. Classes at school are canceled.
