The incident occurred in the East China Sea. As a result of the collision of two ships, 31 crew members of the tanker disappeared, more than 136 tons of oil condensate leaked out and caught fire. The fire does not stop for two days. Earlier, rescuers confirmed the information about the missing 30 Iranians and two citizens of Bangladesh, but the rescuers have already discovered one body.
The tanker was about 1 million barrels of oil.
Chinese climatologists compare this catastrophe with the collapse of the American tanker in the Gulf of Mexico at the end of the twentieth century. Then, as a result of the oil leakage, the cormorant population was halved, and some of the rarest species of marine animals disappeared forever from the waters of the Caribbean basin.
